Aletha S. Cherry
Founder & CEO
Aletha is from Freeport, NY. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, NC and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design with a minor in communication studies.
A dedicated professional with twenty years of leadership experience in Public Administration, Aletha's areas of service includes: nonprofit management, human services, educational and program development, marketing, team building and motivational speaking.
Serving as an executive administrator for a nonprofit museum for 11 years, Aletha was influential in developing the museum's annual event into its largest fundraiser, which provided leverage during a time of severe local government budget cuts.
She believes "All nonprofits need to think 'entrepreneurially' and create an economic engine for their organization for longevity and sustainability... No organization should totally rely on donor gifts for survival. It's okay for a nonprofit to be self sufficient"...
Aletha started New Visions Professional Development Corporation in 2007 in hopes to assist individuals and organizations with levels of success. She shares Marcus Garvey's philosophy "Each one Teach one." Aletha exclaims that "There are a lot of individuals that want to be successful in what they love to do. They are passionate about their cause, organization or business. We at New Visions Professional Development Corporation have the right tools to help them succeed and take their passion to the next level, professionally"...
Aletha says "As it takes a 'whole village to raise a child,' it takes a whole group of partners to build a community." She is a strong believer in building relationships for success.
Aletha is currently studying for her Masters in Public Administration from Capella University. She has a supportive dedicated family and is a mother of three wonderful children.
